This workshop will be hosted by Fisher & Phillips, LLP and Zenith Insurance Services
We will start the day with presenters from Fisher & Phillips, LLP covering How to Take All Reasonable Steps to be Compliant with California's Complex Wages and Hour Laws. Discussions include the benefit provided by the PAGA reform bills and the common issues in wage and hour matters. Learn the ways to become compliant and set up your defense in the event of a lawsuit.
After lunch, Zenith Insurance Services will begin their session with Marissa Peterson, Assistant Vice President, with the topic Why Claims Cost So Much and What Can I Do About It. Zenith will discuss claims costs and how you can assist your clients with managing and lowering costs that impact their ex-mod. Topics covered will include: • Determining the cost of a claim • How employers can impact the cost of a claim • Workers’ compensation claim litigation control • How claim investigations affect claim handling.
The second afternoon speaker will be William "Bill" Krycia with the topic Cal/OSHA Updates 2025, Are You Ready? This will include a review of Cal/OSHA enforcement activity, frequent citations, the 2025 High Hazard List (are you on it?); and new regulations for the year including the indoor heat illness prevention standard.
Our final Zenith speaker of the day will be Christina M. Stark, ARM, CP-FS, AFIS, AINS. She will be covering the topic, Food Safety as a Risk Control. Rethinking your company's food safety plan as a risk control will make a difference to your bottom line. Discussion will include liability risk exposures, risk controls, person-in-charge, and inspecting what is expected.
